Securities-Backed and Lombard Lending
Liquidity against a portfolio, with the portfolio staying invested.
The solution
A Lombard facility lends against listed securities, funds or cash held with a custodian or private bank. The portfolio stays invested while liquidity is made available.
Terms depend on the make-up and concentration of the portfolio. We introduce private banks and specialist lenders suited to the holdings, including concentrated positions where a lender will consider them.
Who it suits
- Investors with a concentrated or legacy position
- Family offices holding diversified portfolios
- Entrepreneurs holding listed shares after an exit
- Advisers whose client wants liquidity without selling

Liquidity without selling the portfolio.
Borrowing against a securities portfolio keeps the positions in place while releasing capital. We arrange facilities around the composition and concentration of what you hold.
Typical arrangements
How this is used in practice.
Illustrative and anonymised. Each case is structured on its own facts.
Liquidity without selling
A client holds a large position they do not wish to sell. A facility is arranged against the portfolio so capital is available while the position is retained.
Funding a purchase
A client wishes to complete an acquisition and prefers to borrow against the portfolio rather than sell down. A credit line is arranged to match.
Bridging to a liquidity event
A client expects proceeds from a sale or distribution later in the year. A facility against the portfolio covers the period in between.
What lenders consider
- Diversification and concentration of the portfolio
- Liquidity and quality of the securities
- Currency and jurisdiction of custody
- Margin and monitoring terms the borrower can accept
- The borrower’s wider position
